They should have name the group as Hiratezaka46 if they only give Hirate to be center in all single. Why make this as a group if the management decided not to rotate the center position even though they think Hirate is the prodigy. Even in this documentary is all about center(Hirate) from start to finish.
Hm….the docu is mainly about her because she is indeed the main cause of why Keyaki in a bad state although everyone plays a role in it too. You can’t solely blame on management alone.
I think you underestimated the power of Techi’s presence in the group. Techi accidentally has made the members loss confidence in themselves because they think they could never had the level of expressiveness like her. In the docu, the members themselves said they don’t want to be Center, they can’t imagine other member as Center, it has to be Techi, they even do everything they could to stop her from leaving the group and yes, they feel like a backdancer but they don’t mind it. Not all members feel that way but majority… I believe, this has caused a discord within the group and bad rumors started to spread. The fans don’t help to repair their confidence either because the members can see the difference in fans’ reactions when there’s no Techi as Center.
In my opinion, Techi always look moody, doesn’t talk on camera and always absent in their show, like a brat, because she doesn’t want to stand out to give other members the chance to shine. I also think Techi is stuck between doesn’t want to stand out, and giving 100% in her performances as she’s a perfectionist who never felt satisfied with her performance.
After watching the docu, it’s indeed sad that Keyaki is dead but my mind is finally at peace because everything that happened right now (Techi’s leaving, group renaming..), is really, truly, the best for everyone.
Aya-chan – If the other members don’t want to be the center, the management push the other member to be center is more better than see Hirate “suffering” at the center.
Well, they did pushed the members in some of live performances but most of the time, they always ended up crying. The staff even gave encouragement words because there are so many talented members, but it seems like the members still feel like they’re nothing without Techi. I think, it makes sense now why they made 2nd gen as centers for Sakuzaka not 1st gen. To give 1st gen the chance to 100% free themselves from Techi’s shadow and gain their confidence, and become more competitive to strive for Center spot or Sakura Eight spot. Like… “if the newcomers even can do it, why can’t I?”
They should’ve done that earlier at least at 3rd or 4th single, you know to make the others feel confident but instead they chose Hirate until 9th, the “problem” is unsolvable.
Btw, all the best for Sakurazaka46.
I guess so, yeah. The problem already started since 2017 if I’m not mistaken, that’s only 1 year+ since their debut. If I’m the management, I didn’t expect the outcome will become like this. Probably.
I don’t know what to tell about Hirate yurina, people say she is great of course she is great but she is on spiritual level, spiritual person feels something that others cannot. She literally immersed herself in the song that’s caused her lot of pain herself. Was it bad I don’t know but saying ‘hirate is great’ doesn’t feel right, truth is she was sacrificing herself. All I can say’ thank you, all the best’ to her. All the best for Sakurazaka46.
Documentary was great but lot of things are missing. Like nippon budokan concert got cancelled because of injury took over, hiragana keyakizaka46 desperately took over the concert. Its more about Hirate yurina journey. I feel other memebers have more stories to say about keyakizaka46. Neru Nagahama also has a significant story line during the stay in keyakizaka46. I hope someday others members speak up.
In Nogizaka, until 9th single, 4 member were chosen to be center. Which means other member were also given hope to better themselves. And the result is now, 26 singles, a lot of the member also got popular & got the chance to be better in whatever they do.
But for Keyaki, 8th almost to 9th single, only 1 center. It’s like the management is not being fair at all. They really should have rotate the center in the early days.
Anyway, I also hope all the best for Sakurazaka46.
why i can’t open the video :(?
The video is being opened by many people and exceeded google drive view quota for today. It will be available again in the next 24 hour.
Edit: Alternative link added. If the second link exceeded quota too, no choice but to wait 24 hour.
Is there a way you guys make this available with the other player? My PS4 wont open this player for some reason. Thanks
They bring a new idol concept, have talented members, great songs, have their own variety show … but it looks like the absolute center system really ruined everything.
Hey, thats was a really good documentary about Hirate Yurina and her backdancers ^ ^
Well, I don’t know. As a documentary it’s fine but it could have been better. Actually, I think it would have been a great documentary if Keyakizaka hadn’t rebranded. It would have been a great way to show the group is ready to move on, especially when the girls said that by the 2019 Arena Tour they felt more confident to replace Techi in the songs she centered. But nope, the documentary just ends on a depressing note.
As for Techi… I honestly wouldn’t have had a problem with her as a permanent center if she was able to handle it (whether it’s a mental or physical thing, I don’t know), like Maiyan or Nanase or Kosaka. But nope. She stopped performing well since 2017 (or was at least terribly inconsistent). And honestly in some moments in this documentary she comes off quite rude and self absorbed. But either way the biggest fault will always be with Seed & Flower. It was nice to see the man at the beginning (during the 2017 tour segment) try to get the girls to see that they’re good enough. But I’m guessing he wasn’t anyone that important as Techi still kept getting chosen as center after that. Honestly 1ki and 2ki deserved so much better.
It’s bcos the choreo and mental took a heavy toll on her and her body, give her a break
@Marill I already said that the biggest fault lies in S&F. And I’m sympathetic to Techi’s struggles, whatever they may be (I think the attempted attack on her during a handshake session left a big impact on her). However, that doesn’t excuse her bailing on concerts and not telling the other girls, randomly breaking out of formation during Garasu and then falling from the stage, and especially doesn’t excuse her bailing on shooting 10gatsu, again, without telling the other members. Based on what we saw from the documentary it’s like she doesn’t have any respect for the other members. She wasn’t meant to be in a group, that’s for sure.
It’s not like Techi volunteer fell off the stage. I mean it’s their own concert and I know Techi suddenly run off by herself shocked the members but isn’t Garasu means break the glass in front of you so maybe she fell like she will this time and isn’t the performance super powerful and lit? I mean that is what the fans wanted to see during that time so…
Why won’t the vid play I can’t watch it
Nvm, I got it to work. What a documentary, felt like a movie. It was really nice and cool to see all the og members again. It was a fun and emotional trip, from the start of their journey to keyaki’s rebirth. I was touched seeing them try so hard when Hirate was absent, from Yukka’s center to Suzumon. It felt unreal seeing their struggles to the stage, like an anime lol it was so surreal for me. I hope the girls get more chances to shine, the center idea and wrecked a lot for them but they didn’t give up. I don’t like that the doc was all Hirate Hirate Hirate, but I’m glad some attention was on the other members too. This doc made me want to cheer for them harder, I hope the rest of the 1st gen stay for a while, they’re what’s keeping me.
Am I the only one who thinks the real star of this Documentary is Takahiro-Sensei. Damn this guy is so cool, I think I have never before seen a man as nonchallantly as him. When he spoke to Koike it felt really sincere what he told her. Keyakizaka or now rather Sakurazaka is really lucky to have him as their dance teacher!
I always thought how lucky they are to have him. Hirate may be a dance genius, but the reall one these singles would never work without, is Takahiro-Sensei…
Thank you so much for uploading this <3
Thanks for subbing/posting this.
Personal thoughts:
I feel that Keyakakizaka46 would have been a great group if Hirate was given center once in a while like Shiraishi or if they swapped her out like Ikoma after the first few singles judging from what they said at around 1 hour 23 mins, what they needed was time and support from the other members. Just because the other members felt they were inferior to Hirate nobody else took up the role as the center and it was given to Hirate every single time.
The lack of the senbatsu system was also a contributing factor imo. All of the members knew they would be in the next single and nobody really had to push their limits to try to get into senbatsu, thus causing the group to just stagnate while Hirate was always trying her absolute best.
Seeing Koike step up during Saison, Sugai during Fukyouwaon, and Mon during Ambivalent showed they had center potential, but they just needed to be pushed to their limits for them to “evolve?”.
Rebranding to Sakurazaka was a good idea, agreeing with what they said about the old Keyakizaka would have been their greatest rival, constantly being judged if their next single would top Hirate’s Fukyouwaon or Saimajo. I am sad that they won’t perform songs like Fukyouwaon, Eccentric or Ambivalent anymore but I hope that they can overcome this as Sakurazaka46 and not have deja vu with Morita again.
Techi is hurt both her mind and body. At TokyoDome, she look like crap, soulless. That is what happened when you rush art! Artist performance in their worst time. Put too many work and pressure on one kid, she slowly broke down and at the point she withdraw. The center spot fear is not what members created themselves, half of it is what staff do to them but still a coward move to blame Techi that shiner than you. You know that talent is only take 10% and 90% is hardwork. Imagine Techi dancing and singing like a duck at the center spot and everyone booing her but that scenario not happen at all. And Keya staffs and management. Oh my. Why place Techi at the center spot so many times, make members feel like backup dancer and talk to them that Keya can work without Techi when she absence ? Clearly staffs just punch themselves in the mouth for the different between action and words from what they doing from the beginning. Im happy that member move away from their fear of center spot in the middle of the document. In the end Keya still rebranded. Techi shadow too strong. Congratulations Keya Staffs and Management, you played yourself. Also i will wait for Techi side of story.
unable to process the video
Plz re-up this can’t play the video
Keyaki’s management really failed the girls, most of all Techi. While I do love Keyaki’s musics till this day, it’s hard to not see that they literally pulled “inspiration” on Techi’s personal struggle for the group images/entertainment value when it’s clear to see that it took a huge amount of tolm on both Techi and the others.
I was on the fence back then when it was announce they would rebranded. While Sakurazaka46 is far from perfect and still has its own issue, I’m glad the members are moving forward from toward something new.
I feel like Hirate Yurina was the prefect idol for the wrong group. From the beginning she was a cheerful happy go lucky type of girl but then somewhere down the line she became a cold hearted person. Was it the way they singed plus there movements is what cause there moods to go down? Barely showing up and giving updates was probably cause because they push her to far. Thou why she left is pretty self explanatory. Did she leave because she thought she was being overused or was it the wrong group for her. This is also the 1st time listening to there last single because I didn’t want to hear it because that song was basically death to the group. I also hate the fact that the new 2ed gens didn’t get any screen time. The first sister group of Nogizaka46 came and went, the name change was unnecessary. At 42:00 it came true but for 29:30 was a mistake.
I can’t watch it….it said have problem with videoplease i want to watch it
hmm… maybe it’s just me but this documentary is most likely to push all the blame on Hirate while the management is the biggest problem. Now a lot of people blame Hirate for not being responsible because of this documentary.
hii, is the link broken? i cant seem to watch it, it says it needs google drive access. can someone help me with this?
Did you ever find an alternative to this or get it to work?
