Welcome to the new Keyavids!
Hey fellow Keyaki fans!
You might be wondering, why is Keyavids getting a new website…we liked the last website. Why are things changing, I hate changes aaaaaaaah.
Well, don’t panic. I might have some answers for you. And while explaining that, I hope I can inspire some of you to join us and help to grow the Keyakizaka46 fanbase outside of Japan (and maybe in Japan too, who knows?!).
Keyavids has been a MASSIVE resource for Keyakizaka fans having over 500 subbed videos. For a japanese group this is a crazy accomplishment, I hope everyone is aware of that. Having resources like Keyavids, Depressing Subs, GEES, Keyakizaka46 Discovery, Podcasts, personal twitter pages with translations (shout out to @toomuchidea) and fan made videos it’s amazing and it makes being an international Keyakizaka fan super easy. I wanna thank all of you guys for the hard work!
But we wanted more! We want to make sure we can connect everyone even further and give visibility to some of the great content you guys put out.
Why a new website?
There were a lot of issues with the last website. A really obvious one is, the DOMAIN. It was confusing! The fact that Depressing Subs needs a disclaimer on their twitter page confirms it. For us it was a natural thing to go ahead and register the keyavids.com domain and let Depressing Subs keep their own domain after all.
Another issue was the SERVER. We’ve been experiencing problem with our last host and Aya has been struggling to keep the site up and running properly when the host kept pushing back. She’s been keeping the website alive for all this time with some help from donors, but the host wanted her to upgrade to a very expensive package and it was somewhat unreasonable. I hope the donors can keep supporting this website, as we are now running everything out of our pockets. There were other security issues that I hope are not going to be a problem in this new server too.
And last but not least, this is a personal one, I wanted to add more content to the website and make sure that Keyavids is a hub for all Keyaki content. We have a lots of traffic on the website, so we can do more and add extra features that hopefully will make our fandom closer.
What is new?
I tried to improve NAVIGATION by letting the user to filter the content they want to see, while still providing suggestions on what you should watch next based on the videos you’re watching. You can also use the Watch Later feature if you want to create your own list of videos.
PLAYLISTS are a big thing in the new website, and super helpful to those of you that LOVE binge watching. We tried to curate some playlists for new Keyakizaka fans as well since I would always get questions about which show they should start with.
The FANMADE area is a brand new addition to the website and one of the features I need your help to populate. If you created something cool, be it an FMV, a Keyaki cover or if you’re like me that creates podcasts, you now have a place to display all your hard work. You can submit your own video and mark the Fanmade tag as you’re sending it to us. We will review the videos just to be safe we’re not posting weird content on the website, but I am very much looking forward to the stuff you guys will create.
The Chat is gone! Chatango caused a lot of issues on the previous website and it made it impossible for us to track and moderate. But don’t you worry, I got your back chat users. We are partnering up with KEYAKI DISCORD and we have Keyavids only channels were you can follow whenever a new video is posted and also a general chat for issues or suggestions regarding the site. There’s tons of keyaki content on that discord server a lots of great keya fans to chat with too.
Lastly, and the part I’m mostly hyped about, LIVE STREAMS. This makes me slightly nervous but we’ll try to stream all the Keyakizaka content we can LIVE. If you wanna watch Keyakitte, Kakenai live, we’ll have a stream for you. Keyaki is performing on a TV Show in Japan? We’ll have a stream for you too. This will require a bit of planning and a lot of help from other fans because of timezones, but i’m sure we can make it work. Make sure to follow us on twitter and join us on discord. We should have news about live streams soon.
That’s about it, thanks for reading this huge post and I hope you can enjoy the new website. There’s still a lot of work to do and improvements we can make, so please let us know if something is not working properly. Also, please be kind and patient, we are trying our best to make this website a hub for all Keyaki fans.
All the love from your friendly senpai! Keep supporting Keyakizaka46.
Hello. Welcome to KEYAVIDS 2.0!
I still can’t believe Keyavids has grown so much and can become a massive resource for Keyaki fans. All thanks to every fansubber who dedicated their time to sub all the videos here.
As the site grow bigger, a lot of issue that needs to be handle and it’s stessful to do it alone. I’m glad Maris came to the rescue.
Hm…I have nothing much to say so…I hope you guys love the new site as much as I do!
Although we’ve separate, don’t forget to still visit Depressing Subs, okay? xD
Thanks for all the hard work! Keyavids is a big reason I’m a Keyakizaka46 fan since it’s so easy to catch up on all the Pe-chan, err, Keyakizaka related stuff.
I’m very proud of what the keyavids achieve. The site help me a lot. And I’m vet surprise of this new site and just keep it up.
Thank you !your website is perfect, I discovered keyakizaka 46 with re: mind on netflix, I wanted to see more, and with keyavids I can watch all dramas and shows with a great pleasure thanks to your subtitles, I use this website everyday. This is difficult out of japan to see this type of shows but you made it possible.
I love this show . Thanks for your hard work.. you must be tired
As someone who’s a big fan of quirky variety shows (which Japan obviously excels at) and also of the cute-girls-doing-cute-things “genre”, the KeyaVids website is a wonderful thing to have. It’s well-organized, has no ‘dead’ links, and has both older material and stuff that was only subbed a couple of weeks ago.
Great job, guys/gals. Much appreciate you.
I’m not sure what senbatsu means, but it surely pisses me off! What happens to the girls who didn’t make it in? No Ozeki, no Suzumoto, no Oda Nana, no Ishimori, no Kioke. This is all BS! Will they still be in Keyakitte kakenai? The varitey show is the only reason I’m a fan. If my favorites, (many are mentioned above), are no longer on the show, I will no longer be a viewer!
I forgot the laid back idol Nagasawa! I like them all and I hate change, unless they do it themselves!
thank you for all the videos, i wonder will the name change with the re-branding of keyakizaka?
I cannot believe Keyakitte Kakenai is about to come to an end. It has been an incredible journey and I wholeheartedly wish to thank all involved with Keyavids and Hinasubs for bringing such quality content and keeping it user friendly, clean and without any dirty politics like on some other sites and forums..
My journey into the world of Japanese Idol Variety began here with Keyakitte Kakenai and I was quite surprised how entertaining the 25 odd minute weekly episodes are. You just have to start learning about the individual member to begin with and progress along with the show. Thanks to you guys I have come to know more about Keyakizaka46 & Hinatazaka46. Because of this discovery, I have now come to like other groups like Nogizaka46 and AKB48 Groups like HKT48, SKE48 and STU48 shows as well as their music. So much so that I have stopped watching American Shows all together (may be a little now and then).
So, KeyaVids has been the key to unlocking Japanese Idol Variety content and I will be forever thankful to you. Please keep this as it is, I just love it.
Wishing you all the very best and more success.
Thanks
